Badrinath is one of the most popular religious towns of the Hindus located in the district of Uttarakhand in India. Badrinath is the most important of all the four (Char) Dhams in India. The town of Badrinath lies between Nar and Naryana mountain ranges and in the shadow of the mighty Nilkantha peak, 301 km north of Rishikesh.You can also visit the winter shrine of Badrinath Dham at Joshimath.

Kedarnath is a holy Hindu town located in Uttarakhand in India. It is one of the Char Dhams located in the Himalayas near the head of Mandakini River. It is a very popular destination for all Hindu pilgrims of all over the world.The Kedarnath temple lies amidst the majestic snow-capped Himalayan ranges and is thronged by thousands of tourists each year. The extreme weather condition of Kedarnath prompts the temple to remain open from the end of April to the beginning of November. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Kedar or Lord Shiva. In Kedarnath alone there are about more than 200 shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.


Gangotri

The Abode of Goddess Ganga, Gangotri is a small town centered around the temple of Gangotri temple and is one of the holy places among the four Char Dhams. It is cuddled in the heart of Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and is located close to the Indo-Tibetan border. It is the highest and the most important temple of river Ganga which is worshiped as a Goddess in India. The origin of the holy river is at Gaumukh, set in the Gangotri glacier that can be accessed by a short 19 km trek from Gangotri. But according to Hindu mythology, Gangotri is the place where river Ganga descended from heaven when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from his luscious locks.


Yamunotri

The source of River Yamuna, Yamunotri is also one of the four sites of Char Dham pilgrimage. Yamunotri is located at a height of 3293m above sea level and located in Uttarkashi district. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides and lies in close proximity of the Indo-China border. The Bandarpunch Mountain is at a height of 6315 m and lies north of Yamunotri. Yamunotri is at a distance of 236 km from Rishikesh, 21 km from Sanya Chatti 278 km from Dehradun, and 176 km from Chamba. You can visit the winter shrine of Yamunotri Dham at Kharsali.

Char Dham is referred to the four most holy Hindu pilgrimage of India nestled in Indian Himalayas. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Sri Kedarnathji and Sri Badrinathji, these four sites are the epicenter of religious activity. All of these temples are situated within the Garwhal region of Uttarakhand. Among four Scared sites Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva while Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the other hand, Yamunotri and Gangotri are dedicated to Goddess Ganga and Yamuna rivers respectively. In Hindu religion, it is considered that every hindu should do Chardham yatra at least once in a lifetime.
